Prachi Garodia, MD, ABIM, ABIHM, DipABLM, DipAyu, NBC-HWC
Dr. Prachi Garodia is board-certified in Internal Medicine, board-certified Diplomate in Integrative Medicine and Lifestyle Medicine, and a nationally board-certified Health and Wellness Coach. She has also trained in Functional medicine, Ayurveda, Yoga, Acupuncture (Medical, Cosmetic, and Electro-Acupuncture), Meditation, Mindfulness techniques, Positive psychology, Biofeedback, and Clinical Hypnosis, amongst other modalities.
Dr. Garodia is a certified instructor of Battlefield acupuncture at the VA, a certified trainer for Mind-Body Medicine through the CMBM, an i-Rest Yoga nidra level 2 trainer, a Certified Heartmath Resilience Advantage Trainer, a yoga instructor, and faculty at VaYU for M.Sc. in Yoga Therapy. Dr. Garodia is helping create a new course on Mantram meditation at the Veterans Health Administration (VHA), training to become a Tai Chi facilitator, and pursuing a Master's and trainer certification in Aromatherapy. She embodies a child-like playfulness, curiosity, and a growth mindset and is passionate about helping her healthcare colleagues learn to heal by utilizing their body's innate healing ability.
Dr. Garodia currently serves as the National Education Champion for Whole Health through the Office of Patient-Centered Care and cultural transformation (OPCC&CT) at the VHA, as Clinical Director and Section Chief for Whole heath at Miami VA, as the Co-chair of the happiness science and positive health member interest group (MIG) of the American College of Lifestyle Medicine (ACLM) for 2021-2024, a member for happiness science and positive health committee for ACLM, and on the Board for Global Positive Health Institute. In addition, Dr. Garodia has served as a medical director for VA ECHO VISN 20 Education and on the board of directors for several nonprofits over the years.
Dr. Garodia has published several journal articles related to inflammation, chronic diseases, and cancer, co-authored a chapter for an Ayurvedic reference book and is working on several articles, book chapters, and her Book.
Dr. Garodia is an Empathic Healer, Ayurvedic Chef, Master Gardener, Environmentalist, and a Whole Foods Plant-based Advocate. Her Journey in Integrative medicine started 25+ years ago with her training in the ancient science of Ayurveda, yoga, and meditation. She has been educating, learning, and growing with her colleagues and patients since then.
Dr. Garodia is an avid Master gardener and practices yoga and meditation, dancing with abandon with friends, traveling, spending time in nature, and hiking with her husband. In addition, she is a foodie and finds joy in creating delicious and easy plant-based recipes for her friends and family. For her, "Food IS Medicine" and "Nature is the best healer." Her patients have nicknamed her “The Healing MD.”
